In 2009 Lights and Colors was asked to draw up a new look and feel for the Leonardo Museum website. The official museum launch was still a ways off, but The Leonardo wanted to lay the groundwork for a modern looking website. the Leonardo had previously worked with StruckAxiom to develop a style guide and were looking to build a website around the color palette and logo treatment. The Leonardo wanted to control the content found on the site, so we built the site around our favorite content management system, Concrete5.
Visiting the site will show the flexibility of the content management system. Over the last couple of years we have added new looks and new features to the site with relative ease. We added a twitter slider that automatically brought in very active twitter feed of @the_leonardo. the Leonardo does a lot of things well, and one of them is how they handle social media and existing web tools to their promotional advantage. It's wonderful working with a client that understands the power of social media but also has the wisdom to leverage social tools and the built in audiences that come with them.
In 2011 we embarked on a new coat of paint for the site with added functionality, you can catch a glimpse of what's to come here.
